WHAT IS TRIATHLON?
Triathlon is an endurance sport consisting of swimming, bicycling and running, always completed in this order.
Within in the sport, different distances exist in which an athlete may pursue:
Sprint - 750m Swim, 20km Bike, 5km Run.
Olympic - 1.5km Swim, 40km Bike, 10km Run.
Middle Distance - 1.9km Swim, 90km Bike, 21.0975km Run.
Long Distance - 3.9km Swim, 180km Bike, 42.195km Run.
The sport made it's Olympic debut in the 2000 Sydney Games.
It takes a group of motivated individuals to help share a passion. With each progressing step, the product of sports continuity will continue to see light.
Triathlon is only growing, and it's never too late for one to join.
